LOGAN SQUARE CONDOS

Looking at Logan Square condos? They’re located in a Northwest Side Chicago neighborhood known for its historic boulevards, large bungalow houses and graystone two-flats.

Logan Square is bordered by Diversey Parkway (2800 North) on the north, Armitage Avenue (2000 North) on the south, the North Branch of the Chicago River on the east and the Metra/Milwaukee North rail line on the west (these tracks are just west of Pulaski Road).

Logan Square condos range in price from the low $100K point for foreclosed and short sale units (some available as of this writing even under $100K) to $500K and more for townhome condos and duplexes. Lofts are also available.

Some of the more prized condos in the Logan Square neighborhood are along, or in close proximity to, one of the two boulevards that run through the community: Kedzie Boulevard (3200 West) and Logan Boulevard (2600 North). Boulevards can be found in different areas of the city, linking Chicago’s grand public parks. The boulevards are historic because they were laid out by Daniel Burnham as part of his famous 1909 Plan of Chicago that shaped the city. Along these boulevards are often found some of the city’s most impressive and historic residential architecture.

At the intersection of Kedzie and Logan boulevards and Milwaukee Avenue is the centerpiece of the community and one of the more striking public spaces in all of Chicago. A large traffic circle is home to a seven-story marble column topped by a sculpted eagle, erected in 1918 to mark the 100th anniversary of Illinois statehood. The column is visible for many blocks in all directions and is seen daily by countless numbers of drivers, pedestrians and commuters who use this busy intersection.

Logan Square condos have some well-known neighboring communities. Bucktown lies directly east and Wicker Park is directly south. Both communities redeveloped in earnest beginning approximately 25 years ago and today boast vibrant arts, entertainment and retails scenes. Bucktown, in fact, is still officially part of the eastern portion of Logan Square and it is not uncommon to experience a blurring of the boundaries when speaking of where one neighborhood begins and another ends.

Wicker Park, too, is technically part of a larger community known as West Town, which leads to a certain informal morphing of boundaries with Logan Square. Regardless of the official boundaries, all these communities receive a great amount of interest from condo buyers.
